Free Music

SummerStage is a host of free concerts, theater, opera, ballet, and other kinds of entertainment. SummerStage is a program offering free concerts and other live entertainment in NYC’s city parks throughout the city for free (Some benefit events need a ticket). All kinds of music are being offered from opera to jazz. It runs from June 2 through September 27.

NYC Street Fairs

You can experience the best NYC has to offer while roaming streets that are pedestrian safe at the time of the event. Some of the best NYC restaurants are putting out great food. You can wander around the street vendors looking for antiques, vintage clothing, art and so much more.

Giant Block Party

The annual event in Bushwick, Brooklyn includes music, graffiti (watch artists make it live), food trucks, and trinkets. It’s a must see!

Heading Back In Time

The Jazz Age Lawn Party is held each year on Governors Island. Attendees are encouraged to dress in period clothing of the 1920s. You are welcome to bring a picnic basket but food will be available. You will need a ticket. There is another opportunity to enjoy a throwback weekend on August 25 – 26, 2018.

Want to see a movie? Why not on a rooftop? That is the experience you can have with Rooftop Cinema Club. There are still movies that are booking tickets until the end of September. Oh, and you can watch the sunset too.

Star Gazing in NYC

Yes, it is possible when the “Amateur Astronomers Association of New York bring their telescopes to the High Linefor you to use.” The AAA is there to assist in pointing out constellations. They are there every Tuesday weather permitted at dusk.

August 27 to September 9, 2018, is the US Open. Set in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens. There seems to be a party with food trucks, live music, some in-house restaurants. All for a chance to see top tennis pros in action.
